American SensoRx innovatively developed a unique methodology to analyze internal cylindrical surfaces of pharmaceutical, cosmetic, medical and food tubes for Comb Corporation.


The InspectRx® camera system is fitted with special proprietary compound lenses carried by the vertical robot.  The InspectRx® system steps down 8 steps and automatically focus its field of view with each step taken to acquire an image.  it then steps another step downward while looking at the inside centerline of the tube.  It again again adjusts automatically the focal lens focal distance and acquire another image of the inside surface of the tube.

The stepping operation continue 8 times.  The vertical length of the tube is divided into 8 segments to correspond precisely with the 8 steps taken by the cluster of robot, camera, and lenses.

The InspectRx® vision system internally analyzes each step.  By the completion of the 8th and final step, and while the robot on its way upward a decision is rendered.  The signal of accept or reject is sent to the rejection device even before the tube departs its designated location for another tube to replace.

Special Robotic Cameras were developed together with unique lenses to view and investigate all the necesary details of the tube inside surfaces without entering permitting the camera or the lens entering the inside of the tube.
