The InspectRx® Ethicon System is developed specifically for inspecting their new inventive product of "Ethicon Medical Fibrin Patch."  The fibrin patch is a medical patch made completely of a proreprietary substance that if placed on a patient wound it enables the wound to exponentially grow tissues healing the wound, which  may often save lives.

The substances constituting the fibrin patch are made to dissolve completely when applied, and does not cause the body to reject it.

The InspectRx® camera system of Ethicon fibrin patch yields 1,400,000 data analyzes of each captured image as it contains 1,400,000 pixels light elements.

The InspectRx® image acquisition system receive the acquired images of each captured product and stores them temporarily.  It digitizes the images and enables the integrated InspectRx® algorithms to accomplish their analyzes.  Once a decision is rendered the image acquisition erases the temporarily images preparing for a new cycle of capturing a new product.  However, the raw data of each image together with the analyzed data are stored in the peripheral memory of the system.

InspectRx® system captures and analyzes the autmatically presented patch fibrin, and then renders a decision -- The presented sample is acceptable.

The IBM processing unit contains the InspectRx® operating platform, storage media, and the executable files that contains software routines to render accurate analysis of each inspected product.

Lenses are developed to eliminate image distortion when the image is captured.  It almost maintains a parallel and flat image throughout the entire field of view without displaying any significant variations of image characteristics displayed in the center compared to the edge extremities.  This allows a robust output data of image analysis.

Upon analyzing each section of the fibrin patch, a “Reflectance Ratio” was calculated, which is defined by an “Acceptable Surface Area” divided by the “Unacceptable Surface Area.”  The unacceptable surface are is the one that is void of product or may contain unacceptable; amount of product.

In order to determine the uniformity of the distribution of the deposited material, the Ratios obtained must clearly differentiate between the material distribution of accepted sample weight and the material distribution of the rejected sample weight,

The InspectRx® Ethicon fibrin patch system renders a decision in milliseconds.
